Tiffany Haddish and Aries Spears have been accused of child sexual abuse in a new lawsuit filed this week.
In the lawsuit, obtained by BuzzFeed News and first reported by the Daily Beast on Thursday, two anonymous plaintiffs accuse the comedians of recruiting them to perform indecent acts of a sexual nature for comedy sketches that were filmed in 2013 and 2014.
The comedian had met their mother through the comedy circuit and used to refer to the siblings as her “niece” and “nephew.” But in a lawsuit filed pro seon Monday night—in which Jane is an anonymous plaintiff on behalf of both herself and her brother, who is a minor—the siblings allege that Haddish and her fellow comic, Aries Spears, recruited each of them to perform inappropriate acts on camera when they were children.
In response to the lawsuit, Haddish’s attorney, Andrew Brettler, denied the allegations in a statement to BuzzFeed News.
“Plaintiff’s mother … has been trying to assert these bogus claims against Ms. Haddish for several years. Every attorney who has initially taken on her case — and there were several — ultimately dropped the matter once it became clear that the claims were meritless and Ms. Haddish would not be shaken down. Now, [the mother] has her adult daughter representing herself in this lawsuit. The two of them will together face the consequences of pursuing this frivolous action.” (Continue Reading)
