Emmy nominated actress Mj Rodriguez has released her debut single “Something to Say” under the name Michaela Jaé, and just dropped a gorgeous music video for the funky R&B track. The ’70s-inspired music video takes the viewers on a journey back to when music was fun with exciting lyrical contents and playful video storylines.
“Something to Say” has been described as an infusion of funky rhythms of saxophones and trumpets while channeling Earth, Wind & Fire. Rodriguez delivers on key vocals and impressive harmonies. We predict “Something to Say” will become one of the featured songs during college and high school battle of the Bands!
Rodriguez recently opened up to PEOPLE Magazine about making the transition from acting to music, her influences and how she hopes to be a trailblazer for other trans entertainers.
Last month the 30-year-old actress-singer — made history as the first trans woman nominated in a lead acting category for the 2021 Emmys.
