Drake to help unveil MVP on NBA Awards Show

Drake will help the NBA reveal who wins the highly anticipated Most Valuable Player race this season.

The NBA will officially announce Drake, the rapper/entertainer, on Tuesday as host of the first NBA Awards show on June 26.

The inaugural show will present the winners of Most Valuable Player, Rookie of the Year, the Sixth Man Award, Defensive Player of the Year, the Most Improved Player and Coach of the Year.

The MVP race is anticipated to be one of the closest races ever, with Oklahoma City’s Russell Westbrook, Houston’s James Harden, San Antonio’s Kawhi Leonard and Cleveland’s LeBron James all in contention.

“We are witnessing a historic MVP race,” NBA commissioner Adam Silver said at the Board of Governors meeting earlier this month. “There have been numerous records set, including a league record for 3-pointers made, a record for triple-doubles in a season, and a record number of players scoring 50 points or more in a game.”

There will be additional awards that include fan-voted awards. The awards show will be aired on TNT.
